1 Month Old!!

Finley is having more and more awake time and I swear she's even smiled at me!

She still has plenty of sleep time too.

This is how she falls asleep after she eats and If I try to move her she is not happy.
One more week under our belts with our baby girl. I am still trying to get her on a schedule and she is still proving to me that I am not the one who makes the schedule anymore. We are loving watching her grow and change but also not wanting her to grow too fast!

Our First Trip!

Finley is really starting to fill out!! Look at those cheeks!

Apparently the picture of Cody and Finley didn't turn out so well (something about Cody possibly gaining a bit of weight around the middle) so I thought I'd try again this week. I hope Cody likes this picture better than the one last week.

Since Uncle Travis's wedding is just around the corner Finley and I have taken up walking to get into shape so we look our best in our dresses. Thanks to Uncle Aaron, Travis and Aunt Sarah we have this nice jogger to use on our walks.
This week has been a good one. On Thursday we went to our final lactation appointment and Finley is now weighing in at 6# 9 oz! That's a gain of more than an ounce a day! We also took our first trip to Virginia, MN for Cody's friend Sharbee's wedding. Unfortunately Mommy forgot the camera. It was a good weekend and I am so blessed to have a baby that loves her car seat! She slept the entire 3 hrs there and back which made for a very peaceful trip.
We continue to enjoy our little Angel and are so blessed to have her in our lives!

2 Weeks Old!!

Her favorite "Don't Shoot" sleeping pose.
She even sits like a big girl!! She is so advanced.
This big girl stuff can sure wear a girl out.
Her favorite pacifier, her finger.
Daddy and Finley enjoying a little football.
I can't believe we are already 2 weeks into Finley's life!! She is currently weighing in at a hefty 6# 1.7oz and continues to eat like a champ.
Grandma Deb left on Thursday morning and I was diagnosed with mastitis on Thursday night so the first day didn't go so well. Since then Finley and I have been able to get on some sort of a schedule and she is even sleeping up to 4 hours a night. I never thought I'd be so excited about getting 4 hours of sleep!!! We also bought a sling so I've been "wearing her" in the afternoons while she sleeps and I've been able to get a lot done while still snuggling with my baby.
On Tuesday we joined a new parents group that meets once a week. It has been great to spend a couple of hours visiting with other women who are going through what I am going through. They are very helpful and supportive and I've already made some great friends. Wow! That's a lot for one week!!

One Week Old!!

Ok, so I intended to write a bit sooner and post more pics but new babies are a lot of work!! She is quite time consuming. I promised a birth story so here is the very shortened version. If you are interested in the long version ask my Mom or Cody, I don't remember much.

On Fri. Aug 24th I started experiencing severe back pain. The diagnosis was kidney stones and the pain was uncontrollable with meds so an induction was decided upon with immediate epidural placement. The epidural took care of the pain and after meds to get my cervix ready for labor my water broke on its own at 8:30 Saturday morning.

I progressed to 10cm by 3:30 but developed an infection in the placenta and in the mean time I had to get a second epidural because the first was not covering the labor pain. I started pushing @ 4:30 and my kidney pain gradually returned. After 45 min if pushing the kidney pain was unbearable and the Dr decided to use a vacuum to help. So at 5:33 with the assistance of the vacuum Finley was born. She was a bit stunned and needed some O2 but was ok. I, on the other hand, started to bleed and needed 2 different medications to get the bleeding under control.

That's about it in a nut shell. It was not the birth I was expecting but she is so beautiful and worth everything I had to go through. These are a few more pics from her 1st week of life.
