A Visit from Nana and Papa!

On Saturday Nana and Papa Schmidt came and they will be staying with us for 2 weeks. It's been great having live in babysitters and Finley sure is enjoying her time with Nana and Papa! (I think they are enjoying it as well!)

We've got a lot accomplished (well Donna and Doug have got a lot accomplished) since they've come. Donna and I stripped the wall paper off of our bedroom walls, ripped off of the molding on the lower half of the room, patched the walls and are now in the middle of painting the walls and the molding.
Donna has planted my window boxes and sanded and stained some of the woodwork and Doug has helped with the painting, weeded my garden and brings Donna and I Starbucks on all of my mornings off. Could I have better in-laws!!!
After all of the home improvements are complete I will post some pics.

Fin really enjoys her books. Her and Daddy are reading a bedtime story.

Happy Mother's Day!

Mommy and Fin
My other baby lounging around on a Saturday morning. Uncle Aaron was visiting and he slept on the couch. Mavis took full advantage of the blankets and jumped right up because she knows she not allowed to lay on the couch unless it's covered. Spoiled dog.

My beautiful girl showing off the scratch she gave herself.

If you look really close you can see a couple of curls on the back of her head. Sorry Fin but you didn't have a chance of having straight hair.

Just lookin' cute in the crib.

Some Videos and Pictures

Eating a cookie in her highchair and making a mess.

Today was finally warm enough to break out a summer dress but only until 1:00 when the temp dropped and the rain started. Luckily she still looked cute in her dress!

Watching some TV.

Just lookin' cute!

She's really starting to talk a lot. This week she has started to make more consonant sounds like "ba" and "da." It happens to sound like dada when she strings these sounds together but I'm not convinced. Cody on the other hand is 100% positive she is saying his name.

And here she is doing her "move." I put her on all fours and she promptly drops to her tummy and rolls over. Still no actual crawling. I'm in no rush to have her move. It will come soon enough!

Oops!!

This is a little late but I've only recently noticed that I listed the wrong website as the the one I used for my blog face lift. It's actually www.cutestblogontheblock.blogspot.com Just thought I'd point out my error for those of you who were thoroughly confused!

Gettin' Ready to Move!!

Today when I put Fin on all fours she actually stayed there!! She usually goes right down on her tummy. She even rocked her butt back and forth so you know what that means...time to baby proof!! She's not there yet but crawling is just around the corner.

We've also started feeding her "real" food. She's tried yogurt and sweet potato puffs (yum!) this week. She makes some pretty funny faces with the new textures but then she squeals with delight after realizes how tasty the treats are.

Sleeping has been going better too. She now only gets up 1 to 2 times a night to nurse and is only up for 5-10 min. She is also going to bed wide awake and falling asleep on her own without crying!! Now that is progress.

On another note I will be starting a new job in a couple of weeks. I will be working at a high risk pregnancy clinic. It will be a great learning experience and I look forward to the more stable hours (no weekends, nights or holidays.) I will miss my L&D job but fortunately my new job is just down the hall so I will be able to visit often.

  • That's about all that is happening in the life of Schmidt!
