The House, Grand Ole Day and Much More!!

Since we moved into the house in February we didn't know what our yard looked like but we have been pleasantly surprised. These beautiful Hastas popped up all over the front and backyard and without me doing a thing! Those are my kind of plants! Donna planted my window boxes as well to add a little color.

Nana and Papa left this morning and we were so sad to see them go :( We had so much fun and they were SO helpful with Finley and projects around the house. It would have taken us a year to do the work they did on the house in 2 weeks!! The before and after pics are below and I'll go into more detail then.

After they left we went to Grand Ole Day on Grand Ave. Lucky for us the activities started a few blocks from our house so we were able to walk over (good thing since they were expecting about 250,000 people which makes parking a bit tricky!!) Fin enjoyed the animals at the petting zoo!

It was FINALLY a nice day and what perfect timing! Fin actually got to wear summer clothes to the festivities.

We met our friends Eddie and Airika, there. here is there son Fletcher and Finley enjoying the celebration and nice day!

And the after math!! Food all over her face and exhausted! What a good day!

Here are the before and afters. In the living room we painted, redecorated and we are now working on refinishing the woodwork.

In the porch we (mostly Doug and Donna) refinished all of the wood work, put up new window treatments, refinished the door, painted and added new furniture.

Another pic of fin for good measure.

And the bedroom. We took down all of the wallpaper, the panels on the lower half of the room and repainted the walls and all of the trim.

We went to the Como Zoo when Doug and Donna were here. Fin loved watching the animals and we were even fortunate enough to see up close and personal how lion cubs are made!!!!

At the Como Conservatory.

With Nana and Papa.

She is such a big girl!! She holds her own bottle, eats all kinds of table food and is pulling herself up to standing position. Still no crawling (and no interest in crawling either) and no sign of teeth.

Donna made fin a Taggie blanket. Fin loves tags and now she has a whole blanket of them!
